Kaneaster Hodges, Jr.

Kaneaster Hodges, Jr. (born August 20, 1938) served as a Democratic United States Senator from the U.S. State of Arkansas.〔http://politicalgraveyard.com/bio/hodges.html〕
==Life and career==
Hodges was born in Newport, Arkansas and graduated from Princeton University. He married the former Lindley Williams, also of Newport.
Hodges was the prosecuting attorney for Newport from 1967 to 1974.
In 1977 senator John Little McClellan died in office. Governor David Pryor appointed Hodges to serve out the remainder of McClellan's term. Under Arkansas law, an appointed Senator such as Hodges was not allowed to run for the Senate for a full term. Hodges stepped down at the end of his term in 1979. He was replaced in the Senate by Governor Pryor, the man who had appointed him to the position.
Senator Hodges currently resides in his hometown of Newport, Arkansas.
Senator Hodges is the uncle of Minneapolis Mayor Betsy Hodges.
